In 2005, the CT800 loudspeaker range was a statement product for Bowers & Wilkins: it heralded a new direction for the company, representing the highest level of custom theatre loudspeakers available on the market. Nearly 20 years later, the speakers are still in production and still sounding extraordinary. Goodwin Hartshorn developed this range (in close collaboration with the acoustic engineers at B&W) to fit in a range of potential home cinema settings. The images show some of the speakers in the range, along with the unique articulating head unit. This not only incorporates B&W’s iconic tapering tube technology (for both the mid-range driver and tweeter) but also allows the drivers to rotate within the cabinet and hence direct the sound towards the listener.
